Allalin Race 2024 - Important information

Event information

A summary of key information for our upcoming event.

Communication:

Like last year, our main communication channels will be our social media accounts.

If you are not yet following us on social media, follow us on Instagram & Facebook, to get the latest race information, especially on event days.

 

Schedule and transport of athletes on race days:

On both days (Friday and Saturday) the race will start at 08:15.

The fun teams will start after the regular team categories.

Access to the start will be by cable car Alpin-Express I & II from 07:00 onwards.

 

Race office & start number distribution:

As of this year, our race office is located on the 1st floor of the Saas-Fee town house near the Dorfplatz.

Opening hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday, 10 April 2024 and Thursday, 11 April 2024 from 15:00 to 18:00
  • Friday, 12 April 2024 and Saturday, 13 April 2024 from 07:00 onwards.

 

Pre-ordered ski passes:

If you have ordered a ski pass for 4 or more days, you must collect it from the Alpin Express counter from Friday, 5 April 2024; a sign will show you the way to the correct counter.

If you have ordered a ski pass for 3 days or less, you must collect it from the race office with your race number.

If you have not bought a ski pass in advance and still need one, please approach one of the Saastal Bergbahnen AG sales counters directly.

 

Catering & entertainment program:

As in previous years, our catering team has prepared a complete program for you. As last year, this will take place at two different locations.

At the Kalbermatten Sportplatz, next to the finish line, our catering team will be ready from 09:00 on Friday and Saturday. DJs and a live band on Saturday will entertain you during the day until 19:00.

At 19:00 we will open our second location in the community gymnasium, where we will continue the event until late into the night. On both days we will welcome our musical guests Die Partyhirschen from 19:00 onwards.

Please note that ski boots are not permitted in the community gymnasium.

 

Champions League:

As every year, we have our top 30 male ski racers competing as part of the Men's Champions League.

As last year, we will also be organizing a women's Champions League with 10 female participants.

The draw for the Champions League starting numbers will take place on Friday evening after the prize-giving ceremony.

The Women's Champions League will start after the Men's Champions League.

 

Super-Drei apéritif and information session:

The Super Drei apéritif will take place on Thursday, 11 April 2024 at 17:00 in the municipal gymnasium near the Dorfplatz.

The information session will take place at the same location, following the Super-Drei apéritif, at 18:30.

Although attendance at the information session is not mandatory, but is highly recommended.

 

Prize ceremony:

The prize ceremony will take place on the respective evenings in the community gymnasium:

  • On Friday & Saturday at 20.30.
  • The draw for the Champions League participants will take place following the prize ceremony on Friday.

 

Racetrack:

We know you are all excited about the 2024 racetrack. The full information about the track will be announced on Tuesday 09 April 2024 the latest.

However, we, the organizing committee and Saastal Bergbahnen AG, are working hand in hand to race on the original track and, weather permitting, we will start at an altitude of 3’600 m.

 

Inspection of the racetrack:

The racetrack inspection will take place on Thursday, 11 April 2024.

Access to the inspection will be at 07:45 from the Kalbermatten Sportplatz lift, followed by the Felskinnbahn. For one hour (08:30-09:30) you have the opportunity to inspect the racetrack with gates. The gates will be removed again at 09:30.

Please note that the racetrack is open to everyone during the inspection times and is not secured!

During the inspection, it is strictly forbidden to race and would lead to immediate disqualification from the event.

During the inspection, every racer must observe the FIS-Rules for alpine skiing.

 

Training possibilities:

We do not have an official training day for the race, but on the 27th of March and the 3rd of April the Saastal Bergbahnen AG offers an early ride for sunrise skiing.

On these two days you will have the opportunity to ski the race course. But please note that

  • the gates will not be set
  • the safety nets will not be set
  • the FIS rules apply at all times

Sunrise Skiing

The cost is CHF 40.00 per participant + a valid ski pass.

On the 27th of March the ride is at 05:15 and on the 3rd of April at 06:00.

 

Flags:

We would like to inform or remind you about the meaning of the flags that can be used during the race:

  • Yellow flag means "Caution".
  • Black flag means "reduce your speed"; failure to do so may result in disqualification

The start lists are final. For registrations and new registrations since the 25th of March 2024, the starting order is based on the date of receipt of the registration.
