45th Allalin-Rennen

Saas-Fee, 9 October 2026 – The Organising Committee of the Allalin Races and Saastal Bergbahnen AG have agreed to continue the long-standing tradition of the Allalin Races. The 45th edition will take place on 9 and 10 April 2027 in Saas-Fee. Registration is now open.

The decision follows a period of intensive discussions and joint assessments. The aim was to establish a responsible foundation for the continuation of this traditional event while defining the necessary conditions for its future development.

Tradition with Responsibility

Since their first edition in 1983, the Allalin Races have been an integral part of Saas-Fee’s sporting heritage. Over the decades, they have brought together generations of racers, volunteers, partners and spectators, becoming a truly special event in the Saas Valley.

The tragic events surrounding the races approximately a year and a half ago deeply affected the organisers and the entire Allalin Races community. Following a fatality and another serious accident, last year’s edition was cancelled. These events highlighted the importance of recognising the responsibilities associated with organising a race of this nature and regularly reviewing the conditions under which it takes place.

The experiences and lessons learned during this period have been incorporated into the discussions and assessments conducted over recent months. The safety of all participants remains the highest priority in ensuring the continuation of the Allalin Races.

Further Development of the Race

From 2027 onwards, the Allalin Races will be held under revised conditions. Various aspects of the event are currently being reviewed and further developed.

The primary objective is to preserve the unique character and tradition of the event while meeting today’s requirements regarding safety, organisation and race operations.

The specific adjustments are currently being finalised and will be communicated at a later date.

The continuation of the event is the result of constructive cooperation between the Organising Committee of the Allalin Races and Saastal Bergbahnen AG. Both partners are convinced that combining tradition, responsibility and continuous development provides the right foundation for the future of the event.

45th Edition in April 2027

The Allalin Races will return to Saas-Fee on 9 and 10 April 2027 for their 45th edition, following a one-year break.

The organisers look forward to welcoming participants, volunteers, spectators and the entire Allalin Races community back to Saas-Fee in April 2027.
